Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and nurture effective working relationships with patients and their families, ensuring compassionate care and open communication regarding treatment options.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and appropriate diagnostic tests to accurately assess and diagnose pain conditions.
  • Provide expert consultation services to fellow healthcare providers, facilitating effective management of complex pain cases.
  • Educate patients on a variety of pain management strategies, including lifestyle modifications, stress reduction techniques, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Participate in ongoing research initiatives aimed at discovering new pain management therapies and treatment protocols.
  • Prescribe medications as needed, adhering to state regulations and focusing on safe, effective pain management.
  • Deliver exceptional postoperative care by monitoring surgical patients for complications, managing their pain relief needs, and supporting their recovery process.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop customized treatment plans that address the individual needs of patients suffering from acute and chronic pain.
  • Consult with physicians to explore alternatives to narcotic prescriptions for patients at risk for addiction, ensuring a holistic and responsible approach to pain management.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The Physician Assistant will work with a diverse client base, including patients experiencing acute pain from surgical procedures, chronic pain from medical conditions, and those in need of comprehensive pain management strategies. Our focus is on delivering tailored care that reflects the unique challenges and circumstances faced by each patient, enhancing their physical and emotional well-being.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant Studies; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A valid Physician Assistant license in Texas, in good standing.
  • National certification as a Physician Assistant with prescriptive authority.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology relevant to pain management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, particularly under pressure.

Preferred Experience
