The JOLT Program Management Office & Operations Product Development team drives technology, business processes, and strategic innovation supporting Applied Materials Global Operations. The rapid growth in semiconductor markets across the world presents unprecedented challenges and opportunities in manufacturing, supply chain and logistics.The Supply Chain Planning Analyst supports integrated demand, supply, capacity, and inventory planning within a complex semiconductor equipment manufacturing environment. The role translates business requirements into planning insight, identifies supply-demand risk, facilitates cross-functional alignment, and drives planning decisions through structured analysis and scenario evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Integrated Planning
  • Support supply response planning across multiple product families and planning horizons.
  • Analyze material, capacity, inventory, and supplier constraints.
  • Identify supply-demand gaps and develop mitigation recommendations.
  • Develop constrained and unconstrained supply scenarios.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly planning cycles, including S&OP / IBP reviews.
  • Ensure planning assumptions, risks, and opportunities are clearly documented.

Planning Analytics & Decision Support
  • Analyze forecast, build plan, inventory, capacity, and supplier performance data.
  • Generate actionable insight for planners, operations leaders, and management teams.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on forecast misses, shortages, and planning variances.
  • Build executive-ready summaries, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Develop business cases and recommendations supported by quantitative analysis.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement, Product Management, and Business Units.
  • Coordinate planning inputs and assumptions across stakeholders.
  • Facilitate issue resolution for material shortages and capacity risk.
  • Drive accountability for planning actions and follow-up activities.

Process Improvement & Digital Planning
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within planning processes.
  • Assist in standardizing planning methodology, metrics, and governance.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and workflow simplification.
  • Contribute to adoption and enhancement of SAP IBP capabilities.

Planning Systems & Data Management
  • Maintain planning data quality and system integrity.
  • Support master data validation and planning model improvements.
  • Perform planning analysis using SAP IBP, SAP ERP, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Assist in user testing and deployment of planning process enhancements.

Qualifications
Required - Functional
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Planning, Demand Planning, Production Planning, Operations Planning, or Integrated Business Planning.
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, supply planning, capacity planning, and inventory management.
  • Practical experience operating within an S&OP / IBP process.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and supplier collaboration.
  • Experience in complex, multi-level BOM manufacturing environments.
  • Structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and scenario modeling capability.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; ability to influence across functions without direct authority.

Required - Systems & Data
  • Working knowledge of SAP IBP or a comparable planning platform (APO, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder).
  • Experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA in a planning or materials context.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including large-dataset analysis and reconciliation.

Preferred
  • Semiconductor equipment, semiconductor manufacturing, high-tech, or capital equipment industry experience.
  • Preferred APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent certification.
  • Exposure to SQL or other query tools for planning data analysis.
  • Experience supporting planning system implementations or process redesign. Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
