Job Title: Plant Controller

Location: Madison, WI/Hybrid

Job Type: Full-Time


Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Plant Controller to oversee financial operations, budgeting, and cost management at our Madison, WI food manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will ensure financial compliance, optimize financial performance, and support operational efficiency in a fast-paced production environment. Experience with systems implementation is highly desirable to enhance financial processes and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial accounting activities for the manufacturing plant, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and inventory.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to guide management decisions.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs, analyze variances, and implement cost control measures.
  • Lead or assist in the implementation and upgrade of financial and manufacturing systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
  • Collaborate with operations and production teams to understand and communicate results, improve overall financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with operations team to ensure inventory counts are accurate, complete, timely, and appropriately recorded in the financial records.
  • Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Lead audit processes and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Provide financial insights and support to monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing and financial performance.
  • Support supply chain and procurement activities from a financial perspective.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing finance, preferably within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations, standards, and accounting principles.
