ABOUT THE ROLE

The Controller is the "Business Partner" to assist in the development and implementation of product line objectives and strategies and ensure there is an effective control in the financial management reporting systems. This role will primarily support the cement product line, providing Product Line Finance Directors and Operating Managers with full and appropriate financial management information and strategic support including budgeting and forecasting. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting and works to improve understanding of key business drivers and maximize results. Identification and implementation of best practices comprise a key component of this role.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Provide financial support to senior management, review and analyze financial results, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Interpret events and activities from a financial perspective and provide recommendations.
  • Assist in all Financial Planning activities concerning monthly forecast and Mid-Term plan (MTP).
  • Perform financial modeling and quantitative analysis of information.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to operational teams as required.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile asset and liability accounts.
  • Work closely with the business to prepare monthly forecasts and annual budgets.
  • Manage accounting and reporting functions at market area level, including management reports and presentations.
  • Maintain financial and accounting controls and oversee adherence to company policies.
  • Oversee and manage inventory and fixed assets through balances review and reconciliation
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Education:ย University Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
  • Work Experience:ย At least 5 years of financial management experience with increasing responsibility and complex roles.
  • Training/Certifications:ย Professional accounting designation required (CMA, CGA, CPA, or CA).
  • Technical Skills:ย Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, and SAP.
  • Travel:ย Ability to travel up to 25%

Additional Requirements:

  • IFRS / US GAAP knowledge is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated financial/business analysis and cost control skills.
  • Detailed knowledge of Amrize plant operations is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong ability to influence with and without authority.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
