The Role: Manufacturing Inventory Controller - Contract 

Availability: Full-time with an ability to work mornings, afternoons, and occasional overtime, holidays, and weekends.

Reporting to the Room Manager, the Inventory Controller is responsible for maintaining all incoming and outgoing inventory for the department. This includes the request of raw materials, produce as well as sundries required by the Compounders and Production Assistants to produce Lush products. In the process, Inventory Controllers ensure that their rooms have all products they require on hand and do so while keeping costs as low as possible and within room-specific budgets. What you do (Responsibilities): 

  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory for the department
  • Work with Purchase Order and Transfer Order receivers to ensure lines are received and discrepancies are fixed and reported
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving of purchase orders and transfer orders
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels
  • Aid in production planning and ensure materials are available
  • Ability to fix inventory using handheld scanners
  • Double-check all incoming goods for quality and accuracy before receiving
  • Coach and train staff in relation to inventory best practices within the department
  • Compile and publish inventory reports
  • Manage inventory, organization, and labelling systems
  • Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies, and discrepancies are addressed and resolved
  • Lead monthly inventory cycle counts and ensure that all stock is counted and accounted for by the month-end
  • Execute year-end count; work alongside auditors to answer questions and facilitate audit
  • Able to work collaboratively with other departments and other areas of the business
  • Supports new or returning staff as required with onboarding, demonstrations of daily duties and responsibilities, while ensuring safety and SOP guidelines are being followed

Who you are (Qualifications):

Required:

  • Current Lush employee
  • Has held current role for a minimum of 1 year
  • Familiar with ERP/MRP systems such as AX/D365 
  • Flexibility within the Distribution, Digital, and Manufacturing businesses as required
  • Able to do physical work for 8-hour shifts, on your feet, and lift 50 pounds
  • Capable of physical activities such as standing for long durations, bending down, pulling, and pushing
  • Knowledgeable of inventory best practices
  • Able to compile basic reports for analysis
  • Able to investigate and problem-solve solutions to variances
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
  • Able to assess situations and implement solutions
  • Confident with basic mathematics, ability to count, including addition and subtraction
  • Able to navigate email, MS Office suite, and Google programs (i.e., Sheets, Chat, Meet)
  • Reliable, consistent attendance, punctual, and dependable
  • Comfortable providing and receiving feedback
  • Commitment to abide by and oversee health & safety regulations (i.e., WHMIS label comprehension)
  • Commitment to abide by and oversee good quality and good manufacturing practices, such as: in/out freshness procedures, test batch processes, checking raw materials, and quality conversations
  • Accustomed to working in a highly seasonal, high-pressure production environment
  • Comfortable with reading, writing, and speaking English in order to communicate with peers and leadership on all platforms (i.e. in person, via email, via Google/Teams chat)

Preferred:

  • Understand how to ship and receive Purchase Orders and Transfer Orders
  • Able to perform advanced-level Excel functions
  • Previous experience as a Lush Inventory Controller or Production Planner (seasonally or core)
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment
  • Able to work afternoon shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays
