The Material Specialist - Shipping assures that inventory, tools and supplies, both customer and New Era Technology owned, are accurately received, picked, packed and shipped while monitoring and maintaining various project shipping schedules and executing inventory control practices.
PRIMARY DUTIES include but not limited to:
  • Coordination of staging, receiving, packing, shipping and tracking packages
  • Monitor and maintain various project shipping schedules
  • Receive and distribute packages accurately to New Era Technology personnel
  • Unpack and check inventory received against purchase orders or invoices assuring correct quality and quantities were delivered
  • Print out material request forms. Print purchase orders to generate receiving slip and sales orders to generate packing slip and ship orders
  • Ship orders to destination to arrive intact and prior to scheduled installation time
  • Record inventory transactions such as receiving, shipping, and location transfers allowing for accurate and timely receiving, shipping, and inventory reports
  • Manage inventory by performing cycle counts, maintaining current part numbers and locations, and working with Inventory Controller to determine inventory discrepancies
  • Perform inventory replenishments
  • Clean and inspect a variety of used equipment and peripherals
  • Assist the Inventory Controller with all inventory activities as directed
  • Keep warehouse cleaned and organized
  • Performance of essential duties satisfactorily dependably and reliably
  • Establish and retain customer confidence
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License, Fork Lift Certification or ability to obtain this certification
  • Experience with inventory systems

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Work in a warehouse environment
  • Required to use hands and arms to type, pull, handle, feel, reach and/or squeeze
  • Regularly required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Regularly required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Required to use a keyboard and a mouse for the majority of the workday
  • Vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus and viewing a computer screen for the majority of the workday
  • Ability to hear and talk in a clear, audible voice
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate
  • Regularly exposed to cold and heat, moving mechanical parts, high, precarious places; fumes; and outside weather conditions

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: Full time. Monday - Friday day shift 8am - 4:30pm
