Job Summary

The Assistant Meat Manager supports the overall operation of the meat department, ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, and consistent execution of company standards. This role assists in supervising department staff and maintaining efficient daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily operations of the meat department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through proper stock control and product rotation
  • Ensure all meat products are handled and stored in accordance with company and food safety standards
  • Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items
  • Support and supervise department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures
  • Assist with merchandising, signage, and product displays
  • Support receiving processes by verifying incoming product for quality and accuracy
  • Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in meat, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations
  • Strong understanding of product handling and inventory practices
  • Ability to identify product quality issues and maintain safety standards
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
