Job Summary:
Are you passionate about data, analytics, and technology? Join Caterpillar's Cat Digital organization as a Business Intelligence Analyst within Integrated Product Management and help transform data into actionable insights that drive business decisions. This entry-level role provides an opportunity to work alongside product owners, business partners, and analytics professionals to develop insight solutions and support strategic initiatives through data-driven decision-making.
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will gain hands-on experience working with analytics tools, business intelligence platforms, and enterprise data environments while building foundational skills in data analysis, requirements gathering, data visualization, and stakeholder communication.
What You Will Do:
  • Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, and team members to solve business problems through data analysis and visualizations
  • Develop, test, and deliver dashboards and visualizations that provide meaningful business insights
  • Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, and communicate findings through clear and compelling data storytelling
  • Support the collection, documentation, and analysis of business and technical requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating existing visualization solutions and recommend enhancements that improve user experience and business value.
  • Research business and market trends to support visualizations and analytics strategies.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and process guides that support ongoing reporting and analytics efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reporting solutions meet business needs and quality standards.

What you will have:
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Strong understanding of the importance of data quality and accuracy. Ability to perform analytical tasks with precision and attention to detail.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to clearly communicate technical and business concepts to a variety of audiences. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret and convey information effectively.
  • Business Data Analysis: Foundational knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodologies. Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret business data to support decision-making.
  • Business Assessment: Understanding of how to evaluate business opportunities, risks, and potential outcomes. Ability to support analysis that drives business improvements and strategic recommendations.
  • Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of requirements gathering and documentation techniques. Ability to help define business needs and translate them into analytical and reporting solutions.
  • Technical Writing and Documentation: Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, reports, standards, and process materials.
  • Research and Problem Solving: Ability to research, evaluate, and apply information from multiple sources. Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, technologies, and analytical approaches.

Consideration for top candidates:
  • A bachelor's degree in business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Experience in business intelligence with the ability to translate data into actionable insights through dashboards, reports, presentations or academic projects.
  • Experience using SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Experience with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms and concepts such as Snowflake, GitHub, large datasets, or cloud-based analytics solutions.
  • Exposure to Python or other programming languages used for analytics and automation preferred

Summary Pay Range:
$89,210.00 - $133,810.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
