Role Summary:


We are seeking a Installation Technician who would be responsible for the installation and maintenance of Audiovisual Systems. This is a full-time position based in Wixom, Michigan. Schedule is Monday through Friday, with overtime pay when applicable. Weekend and Holiday work may be requested.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run wire and install gear
  • Build and install racks
  • Keep project stakeholders informed of the status of and any issues with the assigned projects
  • Track work hours
  • Coordinate with other trades onsite to keep the job running smoothly
  • Coordinate getting the correct materials onsite
  • Update our internal systems with job progress
  • Train and coach other technicians

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience leading medium/large integration projects with multiple staff/sub-contractors
  • Experience running crews of 3+ techs
  • Inclusive of advanced control/audio
  • Advanced rack skills
  • Installation of LED and Flat panel video walls
  • Advanced system commissioning
  • Mid-level troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Advanced network understanding and how it relates to AV components
  • Work through job related issues with junior techs.
  • Promotes positive attitude and remains open minded and flexible
  • Client interaction and training on installed integrated systems.
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to follow and enforce QAT process
  • Successfully lead installation team based on project management skills/processes
  • Make recommendations based on applicable codes, standards and best practices during the installation of a project.
  • Implementation of the job plan and scope of work for larger installations
  • Have the following skills and certifications:
    • Biamp Tesira Forte online training certification
    • Crestron Toolbox online training course
    • Crestron 101 training certification
    • Q-Sys Level 0 certification
  • Ability to load programmer provided control code
  • Ability to load device firmware and software
  • Ability to set up a basic network
  • Understanding of OSHA and other Safety regulations
  • Assist in pre-sales initiatives as directed
  • Perform Service calls at the discretion of Bluewater management
  • Perform customer training at the discretion of Bluewater management
  • Thoroughly test and force-fail all systems for quality control purposes both in-house and on-site.
  • Communicate via email and phone with Programmers, Project Managers, and Installation Manager as to conditions with the systems or troubleshooting techniques performed.
  • Communicate via email and phone with Systems and Design Engineering about system operational questions or concerns.
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
