With operations across California, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, and Oregon, we deliver high-speed, reliable connectivity that transforms lives and businesses. We also offer IT, VoIP, and CyberSecurity services to a range of clients.
Position Overview
As a Drop Laborer, you're part of the crew that connects subscribers to the network. You'll perform the hands-on work of fiber drop installation under the direction of your Drop Supervisor, handling materials, assisting with installs, and following safety and quality standards on every job.
Your crew's work turns Stimulus's SLFRF and BEAD-funded fiber builds into active, connected service across rural Nevada. This is an entry point into that work and into a career in fiber construction. You don't need prior experience, just a willingness to work hard, learn the trade, and follow direction in the field.
For the right candidate, strong performance here is a clear path forward: show up, pay attention, and take pride in the work, and you have a direct route to grow into a Drop Supervisor role.
Essential Functions
Drop Installation Support

  • Load, unload, transport, and stage materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
  • Dig, trench, or bore for buried drop placement as directed, using hand tools or small equipment.
  • Assist with splicing preparation, slack storage, and cable routing under the direction of the Drop Supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site, vehicle, and equipment.
  • Report material needs, equipment issues, or job site obstacles to the Drop Supervisor.

Safety and Compliance
  • Follow all safety practices, PPE requirements, and site protocols set by the Drop Supervisor.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings.
  • Comply with 811 locate requirements and property access protocols.
  • Immediately report safety incidents, near-misses, or property damage to the Drop Supervisor.

Customer Interaction
  • Interact with customers and property owners in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.
  • Escalate any customer concerns or complaints to the Drop Supervisor.
  • Leave customer-facing work areas clean and restored to pre-installation condition.

Training and Development
  • Learn Stimulus Technologies installation standards, tools, and equipment under the direction of the Drop Supervisor.
  • Participate in on-the-job training, ride-alongs, and coaching to build installation skills.
  • Work toward increasing proficiency in fiber optic drop installation methods and practices.

Education and Experience
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • No prior fiber or construction experience required; willingness to learn hands-on installation work.
  • Ability to follow instructions closely and work well as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel up to 100% for project assignments.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and perform physical labor including lifting up to 50 pounds, digging, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
  • Ability to work 40 to 60+ hours per week as project demands require.

Preferred
  • Prior experience in construction, landscaping, or other physical labor.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • Prior exposure to telecom, cable, or utility construction work.
  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification.

Alignment with Core Values
At Stimulus Technologies, our core values define how we work. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
