Job description

Field Inspector
Washington Metropolitan Area (DC, MD, VA)

Open Source Engineering, LLC (OSE) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Inspector to join our growing engineering and consulting team. OSE specializes in the investigation, evaluation, and rehabilitation of existing buildings, including structural and building enclosure systems.

The ideal candidate will assist with field investigations, construction observations, documentation, and coordination on a variety of commercial, residential, and community association projects throughout the Washington Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections and construction observations at active project sites
  • Document existing conditions using notes, photographs, and field reports
  • Assist engineers and project managers with investigations and evaluations
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Monitor construction activities for general conformance with contract documents
  • Coordinate with contractors, property managers, and clients in the field
  • Prepare written reports and communicate findings clearly
  • Travel to various project sites throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
