Job description

Overview
Physical Therapy Assistant – LTAC, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Travel assignment starting 09/07/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range of $1,575–$1,632 with guaranteed hours of 35 per week. Shift: 5x8 days. The role supports patients in a long-term acute care rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities
- Implement and adjust plan of care for physical therapy under supervision of a PT
- Provide and progress therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, ROM, and strengthening activities
- Monitor patient progress, document treatment notes and outcomes, and communicate findings to the care team
- Ensure patient safety, proper positioning, device use, and infection control throughout sessions
- Assist with modalities and manual therapy as directed; support discharge planning and patient/family education
Requirements
- Current Physical Therapy Assistant license in New Mexico or eligible to practice
- Associate degree from an accredited PTA program
- CPR/BLS certification (per facility policy)
- Prior experience in inpatient rehab, LTAC, or skilled nursing settings preferred
- Ability to work in a LTAC environment; strong communication skills; capacity to stand/walk during shifts
