Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, provides quality care to children in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. Within the program's daily schedule, ensures each child has the opportunity to create, explore, and learn problem solving and critical thinking skills through self-initiated and teacher directed activities. Our programs offer inclusion services to children with autism. Understands and implements naturalistic intervention strategies to assist children with special needs in interacting with peers and developing communication and social skills, and coordinates efforts with other teachers and staff in the classroom. Ensures that the center meets or exceeds governing regulations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree (Diploma and transcripts for Bachelor's Degree must be provided)
2 years of experience
BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by American Heart Association
First aid certification required
The following 12 units in Child Development are required: 3 units in Child, Family and Community, 3 units in Child Development 101, 3 units in Curriculum, and 3 units in any other child development course
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree
3 years of experience
Experience in an early childhood inclusion setting
The current salary range for this position is $24.26 to $33.36
