This position is based at our state-of-the-art Surgical Center in San Leandro, CA. Working onsite, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that fosters a supportive atmosphere focused on patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations and develop personalized care plans that cater to the individual needs of each patient.
  • Utilize Clinical Institute Withdrawal Assessment (CIWA) and Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) protocols for monitoring and managing withdrawal symptoms effectively.
  • Prescribe medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and regularly review and adjust prescriptions as necessary under physician supervision.
  • Assess and address co-occurring mental health conditions, incorporating mental health assessments into treatment plans for a more holistic approach to patient care.
  • Manage and maintain accurate and timely electronic health records to ensure continuity of care and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors, to optimize treatment strategies and enhance patient outcomes.
  • Actively support the healthcare team by participating in case discussions and contributing to a culture of quality care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patient population primarily consists of individuals struggling with substance use disorders, including both opioid use and alcohol dependence. We also serve patients dealing with co-occurring mental health issues. Each patient's treatment is guided by their unique history and needs, allowing for tailored care and support during their recovery journey.

Qualifications
  • Current and active Physician Assistant license in the state of California.
  • A bachelorโ€™s degree in a relevant field is required, with additional certifications such as board certification for Nurse Practitioners in Family, Adult, or Psychiatric Mental Health.
  • Possession of a DEA license, NPI number, and Board of Pharmacy License to prescribe medications.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting, preferably within addiction treatment, mental health, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare team environment, particularly in addiction recovery or similar disciplines.
  • Fluency in languages such as Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, or Vietnamese is highly valued and will provide additional opportunities for integration with diverse patient populations.
Compensation and Benefits
