JOB SUMMARY: Organizing/performing jobs in the pump room, mud mixing area and derrick, and assist in other areas as needed.

PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Derrickhand on a Semi-Submersible
  • Structured and organized mindset
  • High level of integrity
  • Analytical ability
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening Checks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Competence:

  • Perform on the job training in own areas.
  • Be in accordance with own competence requirements at all times.
  • Know working procedures and checklists of company within own area of responsibility.

Operations:

  • Supervision of the pump room, mud mixing equipment and drilling fluid.
  • Frequently test the properties of the drilling fluid and keep records of the results.
  • Perform maintenance activities.
  • Keep the driller informed about the consistency of the drilling fluid as well as the general state of the pumps.
  • Operate any drilling equipment in a proper manner within its capacity limits and at the correct tempo.
  • Contribute to good communication between all involved in the ongoing operation
  • Keep the workplace tidy and clean.
  • Emergency duties according to the unit's emergency organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
