The University of Texas at Austin, Department of Educational Psychology is seeking a faculty member in the School Psychology program at the Assistant Professor level. While the areas of research are open, strong preference will be given to applicants with a focus on student academic achievement. We are especially interested in those applicants with a demonstrated commitment to examining systemic and structural barriers negatively impeding the academic success of students, particularly students from racially and ethnically minoritized backgrounds; identifying and implementing academic interventions that result in equitable academic outcomes; and establishing effective home, school, and community partnerships for students and families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Applicants should also have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring with a focus on enhancing equity and inclusion in the field and in practice.
The School Psychology Program at UT Austin has a long and rich tradition of excellence and leadership in scholarship and training. It was the first accredited and now the longest continuously accredited doctoral school psychology program by the American Psychological Association. The faculty are a vibrant group of scholars with interdisciplinary interests, collaborations, and external funding support. Current faculty research interests include evidence-based and culturally responsive intervention and prevention, implementation science, early childhood education and school consultation, and pediatric health psychology. Research and training collaborations exist within the program and across the university, including with faculty in medicine, nursing, social work, psychology, public policy and communication sciences. The program admits both doctoral students and masters' students in school psychology.
The Department of Educational Psychology is currently the #7 ranked program in the country by U.S. News & World Report. The department includes four program areas: School Psychology, Counseling Psychology (also APA accredited), Quantitative Methods, and Human Development, Culture & Learning Sciences. Qualifications
Candidates must have the following qualifications:

1. Ph.D. in School Psychology, earned by August 2023.
2. Demonstrated experience and expertise with school-based research and practice
3. Demonstrated excellence, or potential for excellence, in research.
4. Demonstrated record of, or high potential for, securing extramural research funding.
5. Experience or capacity to teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds and advance the College's mission of equity and excellence.

The position is supported by a competitive start-up package, compensation appropriate to rank and experience, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities. Hiring is contingent upon funding.
