We're on the hunt for a skilled Senior Civil CADD Designer to strengthen our Civil Graphics team. In this role, you'll leverage your Civil 3D expertise to create and revise civil site plans, grading, utility plans, and more, all while ensuring our projects meet high-quality standards.
What You Will Be Doing:
1. Advanced Design and Drafting:
Lead the creation of construction drawings for utility infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, and treatment plants.
Utilize Civil 3D for surface modeling, utility alignments, profiles, and site grading design.
Develop detailed plan and profile drawings, and collaborate with project engineers to translate technical concepts into buildable contract documents.
2. Quality Assurance and Standards:
Perform self-checks and peer reviews to ensure design accuracy and compliance with CADD standards and project specifications.
Maintain consistency in graphical presentation and technical documentation across projects.
Address redlines and incorporate revisions efficiently and accurately.
Manage and track document revisions.
3. Technical Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with engineers, project managers, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and refine design concepts.
Support permitting processes by preparing required documentation and design packages.
Participate in design review meetings, providing technical input and addressing design challenges.
4. Process Improvement and Innovation:
Contribute to enhancing CADD workflows and tools, identifying opportunities for efficiency and quality improvements.
Stay current with CADD software and design practices, implementing new techniques where applicable.
Assist in standardizing design templates, processes, and procedures across projects.
5. Project Leadership:
Serve as the primary CADD resource for assigned projects, ensuring deliverables meet deadlines and quality expectations.
Guide junior team members, offering mentorship and technical training as needed.
Support client interactions by addressing technical inquiries and presenting design solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in "Engineering Computer Aided Design", or a related field. Extensive land development, or Civil utility design experience in the civil engineering field may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in Civil 3D design, focusing on utility infrastructure. Land development experience is advantageous.
Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Civil 3D, experience with Bluebeam Revu, Adobe products, and Microsoft Office Suite. Autodesk Certification is a plus.
Soft Skills: Self-motivated, excellent communicator, strong organizational skills, proactive problem solver, and collaborative team player.
Additional Requirements: Strong familiarity with civil engineering design criteria, codes and standards, and a willingness to adapt to innovative technologies.
$45.24 - $58.11 an hour
