Job description

We are partnered with a well-established, full-service general contractor seeking a Construction Estimator to join their growing team. This company operates across multiple markets including commercial, government, hospitality, healthcare, education, heavy infrastructure, and marine..

The Estimator will serve as the lead estimator, supported by an estimating assistant, and will be responsible for managing competitive bids across vertical and flatwork scopes. The ideal candidate brings strong hard-bid experience, is highly detail-oriented, and can manage multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates for a wide variety of construction projects
  • Perform quantity take-offs, square-foot estimating, and comprehensive cost analysis
  • Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation
  • Manage an estimated 1–3 bids per month with typical project sizes ranging from $3M–$30M
  • Utilize BuildingConnected and RSMeans as primary estimating and bidding platforms
  • Research subcontractor pricing, market conditions, and industry trends
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to align estimates with project requirements
  • Support contract negotiations with well-documented cost data

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of construction estimating experience with a strong focus on hard, competitive bidding
  • Experience estimating across most CSI divisions, covering both vertical and flatwork scopes
  • Proficiency in BuildingConnected and RSMeans; additional bidding platform experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of construction systems, materials, and methods
  • Proficiency in quantity take-offs, square-foot estimating, and cost analysis
  • Familiarity with accounting principles, project management practices, and construction contracts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent credential preferred

Salary: $75,000 - $105,000

This position requires the ability to perform the essential functions of the role, which may include standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation.
