Job Summary
This position will assist the head coach of both teams in the areas of recruiting/scouting, instruction, academic monitoring, player development, and additional responsibilities assigned by the head coach.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
RECRUITING/SCOUTING STUDENT ATHLETES TO MAINTAIN A COMPETITI : Develop a good relationship with coaches and contacts of high schools, junior colleges, clubs and community sponsored groups. Contact and evaluate local, state, national and international perspective student athletes Conduct official and unofficial visits on campus. Maintain knowledge of NCAA recruiting rules to pass annual certification test. Coordinate recruiting efforts with NCAA Compliance Officer as required. Comply with all regulatory agencies and associations pertaining to sport program governing rules and regulations.
INSTRUCTING STUDENT ATHLETES: During practice sessions, team and individually. Responsible for program in the absence of head coach.
ACADEMIC MONITORING OF STUDENT ATHLETES:
Review academic progress reports of each professor in a timely manner, consistent with athletic departmental procedure. Maintain a level of sensitivity toward class absenteeism.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY HEAD COACH (COULD INCLUDE: Adhere to all athletic administrative operating procedures and budgets. Assist with planning team travel (lodging & meals). Structuring team activities
OTHER : Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accredited college or university with preference given to coaching and recruiting experience at the college level. - CPR certification completion within six months after being hired.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B3
Salary: $16.54/hourly-$17.63/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
