Position Purpose:

Barrett-Jackson.com is not a simple marketing website-it is a mission-critical, cloud-scaled, CMS-driven digital platform supporting high-value transactions and globally visible live auction events. The Web Development Technical Lead is responsible for the technical direction, architecture, and hands-on development of this platform, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance under peak traffic and public scrutiny. This role sits at the intersection of engineering rigor, business operations, and brand reputation. The Technical Lead must combine modern frontend engineering leadership, enterprise-grade system thinking, UX empathy for non-technical users, and operational excellence to ensure the success of Barrett-Jackson's digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for the design, development, and evolution of web and mobile platforms built with React Native and modern web technologies.
  • Architect and maintain enterprise-grade, cloud-native solutions running Microsoft Azure.
  • Lead and own CMS-driven architectures using Strapi CMS, supporting intuitive content workflows for non-technical users.
  • Establish coding standards, architectural best practices, and performance benchmarks while remaining hands-on in development.
  • Ensure operational excellence and system resilience during live, highly visible auction events.
  • Collaborate with product, design, marketing, and operations stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Familiarity and experience with AI-powered software development tools and workflows is required, including the ability to leverage AI to assist with coding, debugging, documentation, and problem-solving.
  • 7+ years of professional web or application development experience, including senior or technical lead responsibilities.
  • Strong hands-on experience with React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, Next JS and modern frontend architectures.
  • Proven experience designing and operating applications in Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience integrating headless CMS platforms, preferably Strapi CMS.
  • Strong understanding of scalable, high-availability systems supporting mission-critical operations.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices including Azure Pipelines and deployment in the Azure Ecosystem.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to align technical decisions with business priorities.
