Description

FUNCTION: Provide recovery based, person-centered, culturally competent treatment services to residential and/or outpatient clients.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide assessments and coordinate client care. 
  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions. 
  • Generate monthly reports. 
  • Maintain timely client documentation and reporting in accordance with standards and procedures identified in KPEP standards of practice. 
  • Provide advocacy and referral services when appropriate. 
  • Abide by all legal requirements for confidentiality and ethical standards. 
  • Provide recovery based, person-centered and culturally competent practices  
  • 22 hours of client contact per week 
  • Additional duties assigned by the supervisor 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to express oneself and exchange information both verbally and in writing. The employee is frequently required to move about the office environment; operate a computer and other office machinery; and move or transport files or other items to meetings and other office spaces. This is largely a sedentary role; however and although infrequent, the employee may be required to assist other program staff in responding to escalating situations, and therefore must be able to move freely (including bending and twisting) and respond quickly and appropriately to stressful situations.

Accountable To: Director of Treatment Services, President/CEO, KPEP Board of Directors


Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Therapist I: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field. MCBAP credential or MCBAP professional development plan within one (1) month of hire.

Therapist II: Master's degree and professional license in counseling/human services or approved professional development plan MCBAP credential or MCBAP professional development plan registered within 1 month of hire. 

Therapist III: Master's degree and professional license in counseling/human services, or approved professional development plan. MCBAP credential or MCBAP professional development plan within 1 month of hire. Prior experience working with the sex offender population or approved professional development plan.


All levels:

Must have ability to facilitate client groups

Excellent verbal and written communications skills, organizational and computer skills Ability to read, write, understand English (Bilingual Spanish/French/Other preferred)
