This is a flexible, as-needed opportunity ideal for talented floral professionals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative design environment.
Freelance Floral Designers will work alongside our in-house team to create beautiful, high-quality floral arrangements that reflect Karin’s Florist’s design standards and commitment to exceptional customer service. Work may include everyday arrangements, weddings, corporate events, sympathy designs, holiday pieces, and large-scale event florals.
Hours and scheduling will vary based on business and event needs, with increased opportunities during holidays and peak wedding and event seasons.
Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe design workspace.
  • Assist with floral production, preparation, and other design-room needs as required.
  • Handle flowers, containers, tools, and other materials carefully to minimize waste and maintain product quality.
Qualifications
  • Previous professional floral design experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of floral design techniques, mechanics, flower varieties, and proper care and handling of fresh product.
  • Experience with wedding and event floral design is highly desirable.
  • Strong artistic ability and an eye for color, proportion, texture, and composition.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently while maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a busy floral production team.
  • Dependable and able to work scheduled freelance shifts based on business needs.
  • Availability during peak floral periods, including certain weekends and holidays, is highly desirable.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and move floral arrangements, buckets, containers, and supplies.
Portfolio
Candidates are encouraged to provide a portfolio or photographs of recent floral design work demonstrating their design style, technical ability, and experience. Wedding, event, and high-end floral design examples are especially helpful.
Schedule
This is an as-needed freelance position rather than a guaranteed weekly schedule. Opportunities will vary throughout the year based on weddings, events, holidays, and seasonal business volume. Freelance designers may be contacted in advance regarding available shifts and projects.
