Assistant Controller – Nonprofit Organization
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (On-Site)
Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000 About the Opportunity:

The Controller oversees the organization's accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, and strong internal controls. This role supports leadership with financial planning, budgeting, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Oversee grant and fund accounting and ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit regulations.
  • Coordinate the annual audit and assist with budget preparation.
  • Maintain internal controls and financial policies.
  • Supervise accounting staff and support organizational financial goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, nonprofit accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
