Position Summary

We are seeking a commercially minded finance leader to serve as our Commercial Finance Controller. This highly visible role combines financial leadership, business partnerships with sales team, financial insights that drive revenue growth, profitability, strategic analysis and operational support.


The successful candidate will oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analytics while partnering closely with executive leadership to drive revenue growth, profitability, and sound business decision-making.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Controller who thinks beyond the numbers and enjoys helping leadership evaluate opportunities, improve performance, and support continued growth. The role requires strong technical accounting expertise, business acumen, and the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
  • Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
  • Monitor and analyze revenue, margins, profitability, and operational performance.
  • Develop and maintain KPI reporting and performance dashboards.
  • Partner with sales, operations, and leadership teams to evaluate growth opportunities and improve business performance.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities while presenting actionable recommendations.
  • Coordinate external audits, tax preparation, and relationships with outside financial partners.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members.
  • Support strategic initiatives, business expansion efforts, and operational improvement projects.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
  • Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, Director of Finance, or related leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Experience supporting multi-entity and/or multi-location operations.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to partner effectively with executives, operational leaders, and cross-functional teams.


This is not your usual Controller role. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation coupled with a commercial mindset. They understand how businesses generate revenue, can evaluate profitability drivers, and are comfortable influencing strategic decisions. This individual is equally capable of leading the accounting function, presenting financial insights to executives, and partnering with operational leaders to improve business performance and support growth initiatives.
