Job Description

NBC4 Los Angeles | NBCUniversal Local
NBC4 Los Angeles is looking for an experienced Content Producer to join our newsroom and help deliver compelling local news across linear and digital platforms.
Responsibilities

  • Produce newscasts for broadcast and streaming channels
  • Collaborate with Executive Producers and Show Producers to deliver fair, accurate and impactful coverage including but not limited to pitching enterprise story ideas that reflect the needs and interests of our local communities
  • Write and edit content across all platforms include checking all scripts for accuracy, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Craft strong, compelling teases by curating and prioritizing content for a dynamic, engaging newscast
  • Use desktop editing systems like Dalet and Adobe Premiere to edit video including breaking news.
  • Assist in control room and backup line produce when needed.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years producing a daily newscast in a major market
  • B.A. degree or equivalent experience in areas such as Journalism & Communications, or related field 
  • Strong writing, producing and desktop editing skills with the ability to write on deadline with speed and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with newsroom production systems and broadcast technology
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Calm leader in a crisis or breaking news

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be available to work overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed or required.
  • Able to work extended and flexible hours during emergency situations and breaking news.

Additional Details

Salary: $70,000 to $105,000
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
