Job description

Summary

Baylor College of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is seeking a highly qualified physician to join the section of Obstetric and Gynecologic Hospitalists within the Division of Gynecologic and Obstetric Specialists, at the Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women (PFW). The program supports 12 residents a year, medical students, as well as fellows in pediatric gynecology, maternal fetal medicine, fetal surgery/intervention, global medicine, OBGYN hospitalist medicine, minimally invasive surgery, and reproductive endocrinology. 

Job Duties

The position offers flexible scheduling designed to support work-life balance. Hospitalists typically work 13, 12-hour shifts per month. Our team of Hospitalists manage comprehensive obstetric care, perform deliveries, gynecologic surgical emergencies, and triage in a collaborative work environment. We average 6500 births per year and are a Maternal Level of Care (MLOC) IV with a dedicated maternal transport team, Level IV NICU, and a maternal ICU.

The ideal candidate should be energetic, motivated, and committed to exceptional patient care and education. The candidate should be comfortable managing obstetrical emergencies, high-acuity obstetrical patients, triage of obstetrical and gynecologic patients, and the management of intrapartum and antepartum obstetrics. Academic Rank will be commensurate with the qualifications and achievements of the individual.  Faculty OBGYN Hospitalists are encouraged to pursue educational and research interests.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have an MD degree.
  • Experience: Candidates must be an established clinician with five or greater years’ experience in general obstetrics and gynecology. Candidates without 5 years’ experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Required Certification/Licenses/Registration:

  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine from the Texas Medical Board. 
  • Board certification/board eligibility with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG).
