The Role:

Team Lead Transport is responsible for the safe transport and delivery of temperature-controlled food and related goods from the catering facility to the aircraft, while following all applicable laws, procedures and directions.
Responsibilities:

The Team Lead is responsible for overseeing, leading, assisting, and motivating the Transportation team (i.e. the Drivers and Drivers in Training). The Team Lead performs his or her job functions at the plant, warehouse, airport, and other locations as assigned by Management.
Qualifications/ skills/ experience / knowledge:

  • Hold minimum of Class 5 license or Class 3 CDL
  • Familiarity with safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements (airport or transport-related standards preferred)
  • Extensive knowledge of Trucks and their maintenance
  • Ability to operate and oversee ground support equipment safely
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and transport/logistics systems
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Be able to safely, manually handle (lift) loads of up to 50 lbs
  • Have the right to work and reside in BC, Canada
  • Hold a current Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) OR be eligible for RAIC (Restricted Area Identity Card)
  • Previous experience driving aircraft catering vehicles is highly advantageous
  • Previous experience driving in an airside / airport environment is highly advantageous
