Assistant Expeditor - Construction (Houston)

Houston, TX

Job: Procurement

Primary Location: Houston, TX

Schedule: Full-time

Travel: Yes, 25 % of the Time

Description

The Assistant Expeditor supports the expediting of deliverables for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) projects upon receipt of an approved purchase order through the closeout of the project.

  • Assist in the receipt, review, approval and return of all deliverables required by the project.
  • Assist in expediting supplier's production schedule and monitor schedules to ensure milestones are being met.
  • Update material status reports and other reports required by the project team.
  • Notify project team of potential fabrication or shipment delays.
  • Ensure supplier provides timely transportation and lifting plans and communicate these plans to the jobsite.
  • Assist with scheduling deliveries at multiple sites.
  • Assist the site in identifying and reporting discrepancies to the supplier.
  • Assist in obtaining final documentation to facilitate completion of payment milestones.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, Business, Construction Management or a related field required.
  • Or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Must be team oriented with the ability to work with limited supervision.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is located.

This job posting will remain open a minimum of 72 hours and on an ongoing basis until filled.
