Here's how an Estimator contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

- Lead small to medium estimates or contribute to larger estimates by reviewing all associated bid documents.
- Analyze contract documents and specifications to determine project requirements and validate scope.
- Perform quantity take-offs for labor, equipment, and materials from project documents.
- Assist the estimate lead by populating tender forms, generating requests for information, anticipating proposal requirements, and contributing to the pursuit schedule.
- Identify risks related to project-specific requirements, site conditions, schedule, and market factors, and recognize opportunities.
- Support bid document control by organizing, documenting, and archiving all information related to the estimate for a smooth transfer to the project team.
- Assist with bid-day activities and collaborate with other estimators to ensure successful bid submission.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders, including estimators, bid teams, subtrade partners, and suppliers.
- Solicit competitive pricing from subtrade partners and suppliers to support bid efforts.
- Contribute to the development of a critical path schedule for the estimate or pursuit.
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members, including mentoring and coaching. 

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related discipline, or equivalent trade experience.
- General understanding of construction cost estimating processes.
- Familiarity with specifications, drawings, materials, methods, and construction procedures.
- Knowledge of bid preparation principles, including quantity takeoff, procurement, pricing, and bid-closing procedures.
- Understanding of different construction delivery methods such as hard bid, GMP, unit price, design-build, target pricing, and cost reimbursable contracts.
- Awareness of compensation models, market conditions, business trends, and competitive landscape.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including subtrade partners and suppliers.
- Proficiency in estimating software and advanced skills using Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
