Job Summary:
WSP is a global leader in engineering and professional services, and they are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Electrical Engineer for their Seattle, WA office. This role will manage the design and construction of electrical systems for complex projects in healthcare, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors, ensuring compliance and high-quality outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Coordinate, review and approve electrical design plans, ensuring data integrity and work is compliant with all applicable codes, ordinances, and regulations.
โ€ข Apply high-level electrical engineering techniques and processes to identify improvements for various project phases including concept development, preliminary design, final design, procurement, construction, and operation.
โ€ข Plan and incorporate future-ready techniques, concept development, operating strategies, and various design requirements that account for the safety and functionality of end-users, systems, and infrastructure.
โ€ข Involved from project inception to completion in the management of design and construction of electrical systems.
โ€ข Oversee and monitor cross-functional teams of engineers to execute project work on mid-level and/or multiple concurrent projects, including budgets, tracking hours and expenses, task completion, technical calculations, construction, compliance documentation, and regulatory and technical analysis memos.
โ€ข Prepare data and visualizations such as tables, charts, reports, sketches, calculations, cross-sections, and other illustrations for the interpretation or presentation of more complex data, findings, or analyses.
โ€ข Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, concepts, and recommendations to address design, and/or construction issues or opportunities.
โ€ข Manage client relationship and provide key technical input on pursuit efforts.
โ€ข Develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
โ€ข Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSPโ€™s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
โ€ข 10+ years of relevant post education experience as an electrical engineer.
โ€ข Professional Engineering license required.
โ€ข Extensive knowledge of electrical design, particularly in the healthcare industry.
โ€ข Known in the local community with an extensive network.
โ€ข Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
โ€ข Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of renovation, new design, and construction projects.
โ€ข Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
โ€ข Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.
โ€ข Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
โ€ข Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSPโ€™s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred:
โ€ข Masterโ€™s Degree in Engineering.
โ€ข LEED AP Certification
โ€ข Previous Healthcare or Laboratory design experience.
โ€ข At least 5+ years minimum of Project Management experience.
โ€ข 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
โ€ข Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.
