Small Engine

Mechanics

Summary

The primary responsibility of a Small Engine Mechanic is to diagnose and repair power equipment while maintaining a

safe working environment.  To create a culture that concentrates on service for our customers by maintaining the

highest of operating standards. Every job at Ace Peninsula Hardware ultimately impacts the customer directly or indirectly. Customers are the reason we are

here; without them we wouldn’t be.  Every team member at Ace Peninsula Hardware is expected to pledge to keep the customer first and foremost

guides you to choose actions that best meet the customer’s needs. Other responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following

 

  • Must have experience/certification with Stihl, Toro, and Ego equipment
  • Assist customers with the loading and unloading of their equipment and assist with the work orders when needed
  • Assist customers on the sales floor when needed
  • Keep workstation area neat and clean.
  • Handle incoming phone calls when needed.
  • Notify customers when repair costs exceed customer expectations or when problems are found which were not expected.
  • Always use safety protection apparel, which is provided when it is appropriate (goggles, hearing protectors, respirators etc.)
  • Make sure that all equipment that has been repaired is cleaned before being released to the customer.
  • Insure all equipment is repaired and maintained to the original manufacture’s standards (safety shields,safety switches, and no broken or missing parts)
  • Always notify the customer of the cost of the repairs before beginning the work on the equipment. Make sure to call the customer if you find problems that were not apparent when the customer dropped off the equipment.
  • Attend all training seminars and study all updates as they become available to insure that our work remains professional.
  • Provide the best customer service on all of your work. All of our customers have other choices as to where they can have the equipment repaired.
  • Promote the Ace Rewards program
  • Others task and responsibilities as may be assigned

Sales associates are responsible for providing legendary customer service.  They offer the solutions to the customers’

needs.  Every job within Ace Peninsula Hardware ultimately impacts the customer directly or indirectly.  Customers are the only reason we are here and

products that will help the customer complete the project.

S         Strengthen the relationship with the customer.  Find out the customer’s name and use it while

you assist him or her.

Procedures:

  •  Participate in all store training programs.
  • Learn to sell the whole project.  Develop product knowledge as well as
  • products items for ad on sales.
  • Be proficient at executing all store services, such
  • as mixing paint, cutting glass, cutting keys and shades, re-keying locks
  • and testing pool and hot tub water.
  • Stock all warehouse, drop ship and back stock
  • inventory.
  • Ability to special order products for customers
  • Be alert for shoplifting activity and follow store
  • procedures when such activity is suspected.
  • Be alert for safety issues.
  • The cleaning and conditioning of shelves and the
  • merchandising of end caps.
