What The Role Entails


CloudHQ seeks an Assistant Electrical Manager, with a solid background in data center electrical system operating experience, to join our Operations Team. You'll play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our facility, reporting to the Electrical Manager. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive knowledge of large-scale data centers, including state-of-the-art electrical distribution systems, static UPS, emergency standby generation, fire alarm/suppression, and security infrastructures. In addition, the successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of building monitoring systems that assist in the operation and management of the electrical distribution infrastructure.


The Assistant Electrical Manager shall schedule, coordinate and participate in all significant planned and emergency maintenance for the facility. The Assistant Electrical Manager shall ensure that these activities are executed in a controlled and proven method that ensures the uninterrupted integrity of the critical loads supported by these systems. Your skills and expertise will be fully utilized as you work collaboratively with our team to ensure the smooth running of our operations.


What You Will Get to Do

  • Developing operating and maintenance strategies to ensure continuous availability of all critical systems
  • Developing and updating preventative and predictive maintenance programs for critical equipment
  • Developing procedures and maintenance checklists within the siteโ€™s CMMS platform
  • Providing effective oversight of the siteโ€™s contract staff training content
  • Coordinating and inspecting services performed by outsourced vendors
  • Managing costs and budgets associated with the electrical infrastructure and associated operations
  • Maintaining an environment where diligence in policies and proven processes are quintessential
  • Ensuring best practices and standards are adopted and enforced
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for innovation
  • Establishing and cultivating relationships with key contacts internally and externally
  • Collaborating with design and development teams to ensure the best possible electrical solutions are incorporated in our facilities


Requirements:

What You Bring to The Role

  • Expertise in reading design Microsoft Office suite applications, preferably Microsoft Excel, Project, Visio or AutoCad
  • Proven written communication skills and technical writing skills
  • Complex problem-solving using analysis, and technical and organizational expertise
  • Identify industry trends and articulate implications that will have an impact on the Data Center operations
  • Identifies opportunities to increase efficiency
  • Extended hours may be significant at times
  • Ability and willingness to respond to emails after hours in the event of an emergency

Our Ideal Candidate Will Also Possess

  • Three (3) years of professional experience in operations and maintenance in a high-reliability Data Center environment
  • Electrical Engineering Technology Degree or equivalent
