Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
The Assistant Director, Marketing & Communication is responsible for development, production, and evaluation of internal campus promotional and marketing and social media, to ensure consistency in message and cost effectiveness. The Assistant Director works in conjunction with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, workforce (Ivy+ CareerLink), and Finance/Administration to determine and execute these messages which support current and prospective students at the Ivy Tech South Bend- Elkhart (SBE) campuses.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, produce, and evaluate internal facing campus promotional and marketing activities to ensure consistency in message and cost effectiveness.
Serve as the primary person in researching, developing, and executing new and innovative ways to reach out to current students and potential students in the enrollment funnel.
Supports the Enrollment and Success teams' outreach via various platforms to outreach to existing students and students within the enrollment funnel.
Support in the preparation and analysis of market research projects (i.e., focus groups, student surveys, etc.).
Responsible for internal branding and marketing direction for SBE campus aligned with statewide and external local branding and direction. Including identifying goals and strategies related to target demographics for the college. Coordination of college-wide communications and messaging.
Develop and support the campus' social media campaigns and social media management targeting current students (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, etc.).
Assist in video/photo efforts including organizing, creating, and editing materials.
Supports a content marketing calendar that schedules the creation and delivery of assets throughout the year.
Assists with special events and public functions
Tracks and shares media statistics.
Maintenance of promotional item inventory and vendor relationships.
Assists with copywriting, editing, and proofreading.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

COMPENSATION: $45,000-$47,000

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field or equivalent experience. Bachelor degree preferred.
  • One to three years or related professional work experience.
  • Collegial relationships and connections with area community businesses, industries and other educational organizations preferred.
  • Must possess excellent "people" skills including working successfully with diverse populations, including (but not limited to) college and school personnel, business leaders, and prospective students.
  • Must demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to be self-motivated, deadline driven, and extremely detail-oriented including capability to readily adapt to changes in workflow.
  • Previous computer experience is necessary, including but not limited to Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, text messaging systems, social media, virtual applications (Zoom, Teams, etc.), Client Relationship Management tools, etc.
  • Must be able to travel around three counties: Elkhart, St. Joseph, and Marshall.
  • Must possess a willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills are preferred.
