About The Role:

We're looking for a stellar Lead Assistant Editor to serve as the technical and operational lead for our Assistant Editing workflow. Working closely with Post leadership, you'll oversee projects from ingest through final delivery, support and train Editors and Assistant Editors, troubleshoot technical challenges, and help establish scalable workflows and best practices across the department.

This role requires deep technical knowledge, strong organizational instincts, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

What You'll Do

  • Own Assistant Editing workflows from ingest through delivery and archive.
  • Establish and maintain project organization, naming conventions, and technical standards.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and serve as a resource for Editors, Producers, and Assistant Editors.
  • Train and support incoming Editors and Assistant Editors on ATTN: workflows.
  • Document and maintain post-production standards and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and collaboration across Post, Production, and Creative.
  • Ingest, transcode, proxy, sync, multicam, stringout, and prep media.
  • Build and maintain organized Adobe Premiere Pro projects.
  • Manage dailies and media workflows across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Support Editors with technical and media needs throughout the edit.
  • Prep sequences for color and mix.
  • Conform final master timelines.
  • Overcut final color, mix, graphics, and other assets.
  • Export, QC, rename, and deliver final masters to project specifications.
  • Ensure projects are properly organized and prepared for archive.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of Assistant Editor or post-production experience within an agency, studio, production company, or broadcast environment.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Strong understanding of codecs, frame rates, transcoding, color, audio, and digital post-production workflows.
  • Experience managing high-volume, multi-project workflows.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.
  • Meticulous organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to train and support junior team members.
  • Clear, proactive communication and strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with LucidLink, Suite Studios, Frame.io, Dropbox, or similar cloud-based media platforms is a plus.
  • Experience with DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, or FFMPEG is a plus.
  • Experience syncing multicam or dual-system sound is a plus.
  • Digital, social, advertising, or branded content experience is a plus

Note: For remote work, candidates should have access to a Mac capable of handling 4K workflows in Premiere Pro and a reliable high-speed wired internet connection. ATTN: systems and software may also be available for on-site work.

Compensation

This position has an estimated annual salary range of $95,000-$105,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors. We welcome direct conversations with each candidate about compensation in all of our initial calls.

Location

Candidates must be based in Los Angeles. This is a hybrid role with approximately 3 days expected to be on-site in our Los Angeles hub. Flexibility for occasional evening, weekend, or short-notice coverage may be required during active ingest, production, and delivery periods.
