A part-time infusion pharmacist role is available to provide essential support for a home infusion pharmacy operation. This position involves working 2-3 days per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning as soon as possible and continuing on an ongoing basis. The role is based in Ceres, CA, with close proximity to Turlock, CA.
This opportunity welcomes candidates with strong IV, TPN, and clinical infusion experience. Recent graduates within the last 2-3 years who have gained IV/TPN exposure through APPE rotations or internships are encouraged to apply, as the Director offers training to further develop these skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and verify prescriptions for appropriate dosage, drug choice, administration route, and potential interactions.
- Maintain comprehensive patient records including medical history, lab results, and medication profiles.
- Ensure all documentation complies with state, federal, and accrediting agency standards.
- Order and assess clinical laboratory tests, collaborating closely with nurses and physicians.
- Support physicians, nurses, and patients with clinical and technical pharmacy guidance.
- Assist in policy implementation and supervise pharmacy personnel including technicians and interns.
- Oversee sterile compounding and quality assurance procedures.
- Document all professional communications in patient medical records.
- Promote patient and staff safety through sound pharmacy practices.
- Provide drug therapy education and instructions to patients and caregivers.
Qualifications:
- Valid California pharmacist license in good standing.
- Demonstrated skills in IV/infusion pharmacy; home infusion experience preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining accurate and detailed professional documentation.
System Experience:
- Familiarity with CareTend pharmacy software is preferred.
