Job description

This position is responsible for:

Providing administrative, programmatic, and project coordination support for Mission, Evangelism & Cultural Ministries. Responsibilities include processing Corps Mission Assistant (CMA) applications and payments, coordinating monthly discipleship groups and mentoring schedules, maintaining participant start and end dates, and supporting all Holiness and Evangelism initiatives. This includes campaign administration, story collection for Southern Spirit, and coordination of the annual Holiness & Evangelism Conference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes Corps Mission Associate applications, payments, onboarding documentation, maintains accurate participant start/end dates, liaises with the divisions on new hires, and updates the Territorial CMA list with each division
  • Maintains department records, databases, logs, lists, and filing systems (physical and electronic); performs daily and monthly OneDrive backups of departmental data.
  • Provides administrative support including paperwork, mail, scheduling, and departmental coordination; maintains calendars and itineraries; opens, prioritizes, and routes departmental mail.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Constant amount of physical effort required associated with hand movement, holding, finger dexterity, reading, writing, eye-hand coordination, vision, hearing, talking, and sitting at least 90% of the work time; rare to occasional amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting up to 30 lbs., pushing, pulling, climbing, bending, squatting, crawling, and reaching at least 30% of the work time.

Ability to meet attendance requirements.

Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.

Ability to perform routine mathematical computations.

Ability to type information into a computer.

Ability to sort and file documents alphabetically and numerically.

Ability to operate various general office equipment including a telephone, computer, and adding machine.

Working Conditions:

Work is usually performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

  • Three years progressively responsible experience in a general office setting and project management, preferably in ministry support, program coordination, or administrative work within The Salvation Army.

OR

  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
