Job Summary
The position will provide support to the Safety Department group: Safety, Infection Prevention, Employee Health. Including performance of a variety of secretarial duties, minor administrative duties and projects assigned by the Safety Director. Will provide data management support to the Safety department group.
Responsibilities
• Perform secretarial duties in a timely, tactful, and accurate manner as assigned by the Administrative staff
• Demonstrate expertise in a variety of computer software in the carrying out of daily tasks, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, statistical and specialized epidemiologic software
• Perform minor administrative duties for the administrative staff
• Create and maintain departmental databases and systems. Ensure accuracy and completion of gathering and entry of data elements
• Coordinate and maintain effective office procedures and efficient work flow
• Assist in the review and updating of data elements and convert to programmable form for elecenteronic data processing
• Arrange business itineraries and coordinate travel arrangements for the administrative staff
• Assist Information Systems staff with evaluation and resolution of hardware and software problems • Maintain departmental web-sites • Coordinate data acquisition and management with other departments as needed
• Responsible for the elecenteronic transmission of epidemiologic data to external entities
• Prepare reports as required for safety and epidemiologic studies as well as special reports as needed for intra- and inter- organizational purposes
• Conduct literature searches and secure appropriate resource materials
