Home Health Aide (HHA) and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

At Home Care Agency provides quality home care to clients across all Delaware counties. We are currently hiring compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented Caregivers (HHAs & CNAs) to work as part of our clientsโ€™ Health Care Team in New Castle County. Applicants must maintain high care standards, and enjoy working in a one-on-one setting.

We are currently hiring compassionate, dependable, detail-oriented Caregivers to work as part of our clientsโ€™ Health Care Team. Applicants must maintain high care standards and enjoy working in a one-on-one setting.

Certified Caregiver responsible for monitoring client's vitals, tracking client condition, assisting clients in daily living tasks, monitoring clients' health and safety, and reporting to nurses and doctors.

Shifts Available: full-time, part-time and PRN

To be successful in this role you will need to practice empathetic listening, calm communication and exhibit a strong dedication to the seniors we serve and their families

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Follow the plan of care for the client to provide safe, competent care based on their needs
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing and dressing, preparing and serving meals, feeding client as necessary, ambulating, turning, positioning clients, providing fresh water and nourishment between meals
  • Perform housekeeping activities to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
  • Administering enemas, douches, nonsterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; and applying restraints
  • Provide medication reminders, check vital signs, weight and recording intake and output information
  • Encourage client to become as independent as possible according to the nursing care plan
  • Attempt to promote clientโ€™s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to the client and other members of the household
  • Establish a relationship with the client and family to develop trust and confidentiality
  • Report observations of the client to nursing supervisor along with any changes to clients mental, physical or inhome condition
  • Document activities of the day by completing forms, reports, logs, and records within the system
  • Work with personnel of other community agencies involved in the clientโ€™s care as directed by the Nurse
  • Confirm the scheduling of visits weekly so other necessary visits by staff members can be coordinated
  • Respect clientโ€™s rights and protect organizations value by operating with ethics and maintain client confidentiality of care
  • Other duties as assigned
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active Home Health Aide or Delaware Certified Nursing Assistant Certification, in good standing
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certification
  • REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 1 year experience in Home Health, Skilled or Long Term Care setting
  • Understand & respect patient's rights including ethics and confidentiality of care
  • Satisfactory physical, tuberculous and drug screening
  • Satisfactory Criminal Background Clearance
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to complete mandatory trainings as scheduled
