Assistant Director of Nursing

Full-time, days (Monday - Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM)

Range: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 annually

Guided by our core values of Passion, Respect, and Excellence, the Assistant Director of Nursing supports clinical operations, empowers nursing teams, and helps ensure that every resident receives safe, compassionate, and high-quality care in a supportive and dignified environment.

Responsibilities for Assistant Director of Nursing:
  • Assist the Director of Nursing in collaborating with the Administrator, management staff, and consultants to plan all aspects of nursing operations, including setting priorities, coordinating initiatives, and assigning responsibilities to support optimal resident care.
  • Serve as the care champion for our 5-chair dialysis den, ensuring a high standard of clinical excellence, coordination, and compassionate care for residents receiving services.
  • Monitor each nursing unit’s activities, communicate policies effectively, evaluate performance, provide constructive feedback, and assist with coaching, mentoring, and disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with residents, family members, staff, and members of the interdisciplinary medical team.
  • Conduct regular rounds to monitor the delivery of nursing care, coordination with support services, cleanliness and presentation of resident areas, and staff morale, while proactively ensuring residents’ needs are met.
  • Carry out, coordinate, and oversee administrative functions related to Nursing Services to support efficient and compliant operations.
Qualifications for Assistant Director of Nursing:
  • Must possess a valid, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Rhode Island. A nursing degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical nursing experience in a hospital, nursing care center, or related healthcare setting.
  • Supervisory experience with knowledge of leadership principles, staff development, and teaching practices required.
  • Experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
  • Strong team orientation with the ability to lead by example and contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, medical procedures, and applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing care facilities.
