Qualifications
Job Summary / Responsibilities
The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan has an Assistant Professor tenure-track position available in Accounting starting in the 2027-28 academic year. Candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of accounting will be considered.
Required Qualifications
A qualified candidate must have a Ph.D. or be in the final stages of their dissertation. A qualified candidate must also demonstrate the ability and interest to conduct high-quality, scholarly research as well as a high level of teaching competence.

Applicants are required to submit the following:

  • research statement
  • job market paper (which may be based on the candidate's dissertation), plus up to three other working papers
  • teaching statement
  • evidence of teaching experience (if any)
  • A 3-minute video summarizing your job market paper
  • letters from three references

Preference is given to applications received by September 11, 2026. The review of applications will begin on September 14, 2026, and we strongly encourage all applications to be completed by that date. Job openings are posted for a minimum of seven calendar days.
