About the Roleย 

Positionย assistsย withย lead generationย effectiveness by providing support for the Business Development ("BD") team whose mission is toย identify, develop, and secure new recruitment?opportunities. The individual would work with theย BD and Marketingย teamsย to help generate,ย nurture, andย qualifyย leads;ย establishย client relationships;ย and coordinate promotional activities.ย ย In addition, he/she would manageย individualย scheduling, and perform duties such asย coordination ofย initialย meetingsย atย conferenceย and tradeshows, direct communication outreach,ย campaign developmentย and working on special projects that mayย containย confidential and sensitive information.ย ย He/she would also deal with a diverse group of important external clients and partners as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization.ย ย Independent judgment isย requiredย to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.ย  ย 


What You'll Doย 

  • Coordinate leadย qualification and business development activities includingย initialย prospecting andย responseย ย ย ย ย ย ย 
  • Develop andย maintainย domesticย target company listsย for conference and tradeshow outreachย ย ย ย ย ย 
  • Serve asย initialย point of contact for individualsย engaging via marketingย campaigns seekingย information aboutย doing businessย in North Carolina, managingย appropriate dispositionย of incoming inquiries.ย ย 
  • Conduct initial callsย and interactionsย forย domesticย lead traffic fromย marketingย campaigns,ย usingย detailed knowledge of state program eligibility requirementsย to evaluateย prospects'ย requestย to determineย appropriate nextย stepsย andย potentialย ofย leads.ย ย Provideย BDย questionnaireย to vetted leads to beย preparedย for handoff to appropriate management.ย ย 
  • Summarize details from calls/emails in Salesforce, EDPNC's Client Relations Management (CRM) system.ย ย Create Salesforce records including leads, contacts, and opportunities.ย ย Coordinate with Director, Business Development, to assign leads for management, based on BD Manager workload and related factors.ย ย 
  • Work with partner organizations toย maintainย relationships,ย utilizeย knowledge, and streamlineย processesย for BDย teamย asย prospects pertainย to certain areasย orย sectors.ย ย 
  • Work closely with Marketing & Researchย teamsย toย assistย development ofย e-marketing campaign content, salesย collateral, presentations, andย informationย requests from the Business Development team.ย ย 
  • Provide Business Development input forย optimizingย efficiency ofย marketing campaigns and correctlyย qualifying and assigningย leads based on individual prospect needs.ย ย 

Other functions:ย ย 

  • Work independently and within cross-functional teams on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.ย ย Manage special projects which may include planning and coordinating multiple presentations,ย disseminatingย information, coordinating direct mailings, and creating content for brochures.ย 
  • Maintainย monthlyย Salesforceย dashboard.ย 
  • Create and develop visual presentationsย and other marketing materials with supportย ofย Businessย Development,ย Research, andย Marketing team members.ย ย 
  • Coordinate post-trade show and event drip campaigns with theย Marketingย team andย serve asย an initialย point of contact forย follow-upย from said emails.ย ย 
  • Input into Salesforce, schedule and organize meetings, post-event lead follow-up, drip campaigns,ย etc.ย ย 
  • Cross-reference and synchronize multiple calendars and calls.ย ย ย 
  • Develop research responses on items such as workforce, industry, population, and education as follow up as requested from calls. Coordinate heavily with research onย additionalย materials requested and ensureย timelyย delivery of requested materials to prospects.ย ย 
  • Other duties asย assigned.ย 

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirementsย 

  • Bachelor's degreeย preferredย 
  • 1-3 years of business experienceย ย 
  • 1-2ย years' experienceย in a sales and marketing environment ideal,ย including internship experienceย 
  • Knowledge of state economic development resources and issues is highly desiredย 
  • Driver's license requiredย
