Design Engineer

Location: Onsite near Oklahoma City, OK
Travel: Up to 5%

Position Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to support the development of aerospace components and systems. This role will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from initial concept and design through testing, validation, production support, and ongoing improvements. The ideal candidate will enjoy hands-on engineering work and collaborating across teams to develop high-quality aerospace solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support engineering projects under the direction of senior engineering leadership
  • Design and develop components and systems based on customer requirements
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and design revisions
  • Participate in product testing, validation, and qualification activities
  • Prepare and present technical data for internal and customer design reviews
  • Assist with cost reduction, manufacturability, reliability, and process improvement initiatives
  • Develop test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Monitor project timelines, costs, and communicate status updates to stakeholders
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, quality, and business development teams
  • Support existing product lines and recommend improvements where needed
  • Maintain accurate project documentation in accordance with company standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field required
  • 2–4 years of engineering experience preferred
  • Aerospace or aviation industry experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with environmental control systems or related mechanical systems is a plus
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoDesk, or similar 3D CAD software required
  • Working knowledge of CAD design and analysis tools
  • Familiarity with RTCA/DO-160 and aerospace certification processes is highly preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and MS Project
  • Ability to work onsite in Oklahoma City, OK
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 5% as needed for customer support and project reviews
