Introduction

The Alliance of Community Assistance Ministries, Inc. (ACAM) is a nonprofit management support organization fostering innovative collaboration through a diverse network of 100 nonprofit and community organizations to advance community-wide solutions through collaboration to strengthen the social safety net in Harris, Fort Bend, Waller, Brazoria, Galveston, and Montgomery Counties. ACAM’s 15 Core Members are public charities that share “assisting those in crisis” as a central part of their missions and are uniquely positioned to identify, engage, and provide critical services to at-risk families. They collectively serve over 340,000 individuals annually with more than 8 million units of 175 unique services and have established reputations as leaders in providing exemplary and compassionate services. ACAM assists network partners through high-impact collaboration, training, and management support services as they provide opportunities for families and individuals to meet and rise above their basic needs.

ACAM acts as the coordinating agency for the Greater Houston Opportunity Youth Collaborative (GHOYC), a regional coordinated effort working to create positive outcomes for young adults disconnected from education and career pathways (Opportunity Youth). GHOYC does not focus on providing direct services to young adults but rather supports, strengthens, and highlights the work of organizations who do. GHOYC works to foster collaboration and systemic change by:

  • Scaling career and educational pathways for young adults 16-24 years old who are neither working nor in school
  • Convening stakeholders with the goal of coordinating and connecting services
  • Raising awareness of the issue of young adult disconnection and solutions underway, and
  • Elevating the voice and experiences of young adults to expand access to and improve services.
Position Summary

The Manager of Data & Analytics will assist in cultivating an enhanced data culture among the ACAM departments and the GHOYC network. This position will optimize the collection, management, and analytics of GHOYC and public opportunity youth related data to generate actionable insights, support data-driven decision making, and increase visibility of the impact of supporting opportunity youth across the Greater Houston Region.

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee collection, management, and analytics of all GHOYC data.
  • Review data and prepare various program reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct presentations and data updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate relationships with GHOYC/ACAM stakeholders and partnering agencies to ensure data collection, transfer, and reporting is continuous and accurate.
  • Organize and conduct technical assistance trainings for GHOYC/ACAM network of partners.
  • Develop and conduct internal and external trainings on GHOYC data platforms and collection processes to ensure successful adoption.
  • Analyze and aggregate data from multiple sources for trends, volume, demographics, and operational metrics to support decisions.
  • Connect with external research experts in the OY landscape to ensure GHOYC remains up to date with larger data trends and learnings.
  • Field and support quantitative research inquiries from GHOYC/ACAM data partners.
  • Work with contracted consultants for data platforms, research and evaluation, and other relevant areas as needed.
  • Manage any data sharing platforms developed for GHOYC/ACAM either directly or through a consultant.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and visualization of all ACAM departments as needed.
  • Make recommendations for improving and streamlining ACAM’s data collection and analytics processes.
  • Reinforce and enhance internal practices that ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
  • Organize meetings, maintain required correspondence, and retain required records for external relationships.
  • Represent the GHOYC/ACAM Network at Community Education & Outreach opportunities.
  • Other programmatic and operating duties that support the overall success of ACAM as assigned.
Education/Training
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred
  • Degree or certification in Data Management, Business Analytics, Information Technology, Statistics or a related field strongly preferred
  • Research lab experience in data analysis preferred
  • Teaching Assistance experience preferred
  • Experience working with workforce, education, or census type data strongly preferred
Experience and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience with data collection, analysis, evaluation, and report writing
  • Experience with working with large data sets and analysis of publicly available data
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex data sets to derive actionable insights
  • Experience giving presentations and facilitating groups
  • Ability to clearly present data insights and technical information to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work with multiple organizations
  • Experience working in collaborative environments and a commitment to improving systems that support opportunity youth and young adults
  • Ability to work well in a small team environment
Compensation
  • $65,000-$75,000 annually
  • Medical, dental, vision plans; SEP-IRA retirement plan after six months. Paid holidays and PTO.
Location
  • This position is 100% in the office. Candidates must reside in the Greater Houston area.
  • Attendance at meetings/events outside of traditional working hours will be necessary.
  • Regional travel required; must have valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
