Additional Information About the Role

Siteman Cancer Center is looking for their next Manager of Data Analytics and Business Intelligence. This leader will grow Siteman's analytics strategy and portfolio in order to help cancer center leaders address opportunities in the areas of quality improvement, program growth, patient experience, and research. Leveraging tools like Tableau, Power BI, SQL, etc., this role will help to shape the business intelligence platform that supports Siteman leadership.

Must reside in the greater St. Louis area. 


Overview

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Role Purpose

Leads the Data Analytics Team in delivering information support to the decision making through the production of intelligence on both process and outcome measures in all domains of quality performance (safety, clinical outcomes, efficiency, service). Provides guidance to leaders on data analytics related to formal PI initiatives and continuous improvement team activity. Supports management team on creation and/or access to reports, dashboards and scorecards across EPIC and a variety of other portals. Serves as the main data analytics and business intelligence point contact for all levels of management.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Leads or is considered the subject matter expert on data analytics and business intelligence related to process and outcome performance for complex and strategic initiatives, including translating national standards and BJC wide performance into hospital wide and department performance standards. Projects will include study design, healthcare vocabularies, decision support research, and healthcare data exchange standard, clinical workflow as it relates to technology.
  • Proactively identifies areas for analytical opportunities across the hospital and BJC. Prioritizes and coordinates efforts across the hospital, and provides guidance for future strategic and tactical needs.
  • Interacts proactively and effectively with the Management Team directly, and through the PI Management team on a regular basis to ensure to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Drives and/or supports cross-functional projects that focus on delivering value through strategic initiatives and process improvement.
