Position Summary

The Data/Financial Analyst will be responsible for compiling and interpreting different data sets across the firm to measure, track and explain trends to optimize financial performance and mitigate risks. They will work with firm leadership to create and implement initiatives based on industry best practices and regulatory controls.

The Analyst collaborates closely with Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Recruiting, Information Technology, and Practice Leadership to ensure accurate reporting and data-driven decision-making across the organization
Key Objectives

  • Maintains firm confidentiality.
  • Follows firm policies by conforming to the procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Develops an understanding of the firm's vision, plan, and strategies and their role in achieving them.
  • Works sufficient hours needed in order to complete projects assigned.
  • Utilize SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze financial data from various sources including databases, spreadsheets, and accounting software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design data models and reporting frameworks that meet the needs of internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain automated processes for data cleansing, validation, and visualization to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, transactional data, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for management.
  • Develop and recommend changes to reporting methodologies, data governance standards, and performance measurement systems.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives to optimize financial performance, mitigate risks, and achieve business objectives.
  • Exercises independent judgment in developing performance metrics, identifying business risks, and recommending operational improvements.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes.
  • Support implementation and enhancement of practice management, financial, payroll, HRIS, CRM, and business intelligence systems.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process automation and improved system integration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field required.
  • Three to seven (3-7) years of experience in financial analysis, business analytics, accounting, or business intelligence.
  • Professional services, accounting firm, or consulting experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting leadership with reporting and analysis preferred.

Preferred Abilities

  • Proficiency in SQL and advanced Excel skills for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such Power BI, SSRS, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Thomson Reuters Practice CS or Karbon is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Knowledge of Reporting - Knowledge of financial reporting concepts and dashboard development to prepare detailed reports, dashboards, and presentations that support firm-wide and individual office needs.

  • Ability to Analyze Financial Data - Ability to perform in-depth analysis of financial statements, transactional data, and performance metrics to identify trends, explain results, and support management decisions that optimize firm performance.
  • Ability to Prepare Accurate Work Product - Ability to accurately prepare presentable data and reporting at regular intervals throughout the year while completing other assigned tasks as needed.
