About MyComputerCareer (MyCC)

MyComputerCareer is a technology education company focused on changing lives through career training. Our team is driven by purpose, innovation, and a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for students and employees alike. Technology is at the core of how we operate — and we’re looking for a strong IT leader to help us scale securely and efficiently.

Position Overview

The IT Operations Manager leads the day-to-day operations of MyCC’s IT environment, ensuring our systems, infrastructure, and support services run reliably, efficiently, and securely.

This role combines IT operations leadership with cybersecurity oversight. You will guide a team responsible for networks, servers, endpoints, and help desk support while also protecting company systems and data from security threats. You’ll play a hands-on leadership role — supporting escalations, improving processes, strengthening security, and ensuring technology enables the business to run smoothly.

What You’ll DoIT Operations & Infrastructure
  • Monitor servers, networks, and systems for performance, stability, and reliability

  • Analyze system logs, error reports, and user feedback to identify improvements

  • Oversee system upgrades, installations, and data migrations while maintaining uptime and security

  • Ensure patches and updates are applied to servers, endpoints, and applications

  • Evaluate hardware and software effectiveness and recommend improvements

  • Manage software licensing and ensure compliance

  • Support LAN/WAN environments, user access, and system configurations

Help Desk & Team Leadership
  • Lead IT support operations and assign help desk priorities

  • Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues

  • Guide hardware and software replacement, upgrades, and standards

  • Develop and maintain IT documentation, SOPs, and user guides

  • Provide training insights to improve user productivity and adoption

  • Participate in planning, meetings, and departmental projects

Cybersecurity & Risk Management
  • Establish and continuously meaningfully improve MyCC’s cybersecurity program

  • Help implement security policies, controls, monitoring, and response processes

  • Safeguard systems, infrastructure, and company data from threats and vulnerabilities

  • Manage access controls, endpoint protection, and risk mitigation efforts

  • Support incident response and proactive security monitoring

Strategic & Administrative Support
  • Assess department technology and equipment needs and present recommendations to the CIO

  • Assist with vendor coordination and bid gathering for IT purchases

  • Use technology to improve employee efficiency and service delivery

Key Competencies
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

  • Customer-first mindset with excellent communication skills

  • Technical leadership and team management

  • Project and workload prioritization in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with documentation, SOPs, and IT policies

  • Ticketing systems and service desk operations

  • Cloud platform experience

  • Cybersecurity knowledge and risk awareness

  • High ethical standards and professionalism

Education & Experience
  • 5–8 years of progressive experience in IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure management

  • Experience supporting modern enterprise technologies and business IT environments

  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or similar SaaS environments)

  • Experience with network administration, servers, endpoint management, and system security best practices

  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals (patching, access control, endpoint protection, risk mitigation)

  • Experience leading or supporting help desk and technical teams

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred but not required — equivalent experience strongly considered

  • Industry certifications are a plus (CompTIA, Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Security+, Network+, etc.)

Travel & Work Location

This role requires approximately 10–15% travel, including visits to offsite locations and attendance at industry conferences or events as needed.
This position is based in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, and candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to this area.

Physical & Work Requirements
  • Ability to communicate clearly in person and in writing

  • Ability to move throughout office and campus environments

  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)

  • Sustained focus and cognitive engagement in a dynamic environment

Why Join MyCC?

You’ll have the opportunity to shape and strengthen the technology backbone of an organization that changes lives every day. This is a high-impact leadership role where your expertise will directly influence security, stability, and scalability across the company.
