Job description

It's more than a job

As a FTZ Director at Kuehne+Nagel, your job is to optimise logistics to keep our global supply chains running smoothly. But the impact of your work goes beyond that. In fact, your expertise makes both special and ordinary moments possible for people around the world. For example, your work could ensure that a global product launch happens on time-such as ethically sourced beauty and bath products stocked at local stores for your loved one's valued self-care routine. It's import and export work, but it's also so much more than we imagine.

As Foreign Trade Zones (FTZ) Director, you will lead compliance, operations, and client engagement across our FTZ programs. This role oversees import administration, regulatory adherence, inventory controls, and team leadership to ensure seamless movement of goods into and out of Foreign Trade Zones.

How you create impact
  • Oversee all customs declarations related to inbounds, permits to transfer, admissions, and entries.
  • Lead daily inventory reconciliation using the A400 system and resolve discrepancies.
  • Review commercial documentation against shipment receipts to identify shortages or overages.
  • Manage and develop FTZ staff, driving efficiency, profitability, and operational excellence.
  • Engage with clients to assess needs, define goals, and recommend improvement strategies.
  • Prepare annual FTZ inventory reconciliations and reports.
  • Submit quarterly Harbor Maintenance Fees for all ocean shipments.
  • Develop and maintain FTZ operating manuals and deliver training to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Educate clients on FTZ regulatory laws and maintain strong crossdepartmental relationships across the KN network.
  • Assist in marketing, brand development, and data analysis initiatives.
What we would like you to bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, Finance, or a related field
  • 7+ years of seniorlevel experience, including management of FTZ groups and site
  • 5+ years of proven experience in Leadership (Managing the Team)
  • Skilled in customs compliance, inventory control, and FTZ operational strategy
  • A collaborative leader who thrives in a fastpaced, highly regulated environment.
  • Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, including clients, customs officers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
What's in it for you
