Assistant Creative Sales information

What is an assistant creative sales?

Assistant Creative Sales professionals support sales teams in creative industries by helping to develop sales strategies, create marketing materials, and maintain client relationships. They often assist with presentations, coordinate communication between creative and sales teams, and help identify new business opportunities. This role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and an understanding of both sales processes and creative services.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an assistant creative sales professional?

To thrive as an Assistant Creative Sales professional, you need a solid understanding of sales principles, marketing strategies, and creative concept development, often supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software, presentation tools like PowerPoint or Keynote, and digital marketing platforms is typically required. Strong interpersonal communication, persuasive storytelling, and organizational skills distinguish top performers in this role. These competencies are crucial for driving sales growth, effectively communicating creative ideas, and building lasting client relationships.

How does an assistant creative sales professional typically collaborate with design and sales teams on client projects?

As an Assistant Creative Sales professional, you will often act as a bridge between the creative and sales departments. Your daily responsibilities may include attending brainstorming sessions with designers to understand project requirements and then working with the sales team to align these creative concepts with client objectives. Effective communication and organization are key, as you’ll help ensure that client feedback and market insights are integrated into proposals and presentations. This cross-functional collaboration not only strengthens client relationships but also provides you with exposure to both creative processes and sales strategies, offering valuable career growth opportunities.

Both roles require communication skills and industry knowledge but differ in their direct client interaction and responsibilities.

Can you be an assistant creative sales with no experience?

An assistant creative sales role typically requires some knowledge of sales techniques and creativity, but many employers are willing to train candidates with no prior experience. Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn are valuable assets for entry-level applicants. Relevant tools may include CRM software and basic marketing knowledge, but formal experience is not always mandatory for starting positions.

Job description

Love beautiful interiors and love working with people?

Village Interiors is looking for an energetic, creative and sales-minded Part-Time Sales Associate & Design Assistant to join our team.

We are a full-service interior design and remodeling firm.  From furniture, accessories and window coverings to flooring, tile, countertops and complete remodels, we help clients create homes that are beautiful, functional and uniquely their own.  This is a hybrid position for someone who enjoys sales, design and people. You’ll work directly with customers in our showroom while also assisting our Senior Designers with client projects behind the scenes.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Sell + Connect

  • Welcome clients and create an exceptional showroom experience.
  • Ask great questions, understand customer needs and recommend products and design services.
  • Sell furniture, accessories, rugs, lighting and other showroom products.
  • Introduce customers to our full-service interior design and remodeling services and help turn showroom conversations into design opportunities.
  • Follow up with customers, leads and potential clients to build relationships and generate sales.

Design + Create

  • Assist Senior Designers with active interior design and remodeling projects.
  • Help source furniture, fabrics, finishes, accessories and other project materials.
  • Prepare samples, product selections and presentation materials.
  • Assist with showroom displays, merchandising and seasonal updates.
  • Help keep the Design Center organized, inspiring and client-ready.

Support + Make It Happen

  • Enter sales and customer information accurately into company systems.
  • Assist with product orders, receiving, pricing and showroom inventory.
  • Communicate with clients and team members regarding orders and project details.
  • Jump in where needed.  We are a collaborative, hands-on team.

Cleaning + Store Maintenance

  • Keep the sales floor clean and organized
  • Maintain display standards and ensure displays are visually appealing
  • Perform light cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming and wiping surfaces.
  • Assist with restocking and organizing products

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You might be a great fit if you are:

  • Sales minded. You enjoy helping customers make decisions and aren't afraid to ask for the sale.
  • Design obsessed. You notice fabrics, furniture, finishes and details other people walk right past.
  • Personable. You can comfortably start a conversation, build rapport and make clients feel welcome.
  • Creative AND organized. You love pretty things, but you can also keep track of the details.
  • Proactive. You see what needs to be done and get moving.
  • Tech savvy. You can learn new software and aren't intimidated by computers, POS systems or design technology.
  • Flexible. Some days you'll be selling a sofa; other days you'll be helping pull samples for an entire home.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous retail, sales, customer service or interior design experience preferred.
  • Interior design education or experience is a plus, but not required for the right candidate.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills.
  • Comfortable working toward sales goals.
  • Ability to learn product lines and confidently explain their features and benefits.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift and move showroom merchandise and samples as needed.
  • Reliable, professional and excited to be part of a small, collaborative team.

WHY VILLAGE INTERIORS?

This isn't traditional retail.  You'll have the opportunity to sell, learn, create and grow alongside experienced interior designers while working with beautiful products and real client projects.

If you love interiors, enjoy people and get a little thrill out of turning “I'm just looking” into “I'll take it,” we'd love to meet you.
