Omnidian is building a more sustainable future for the planet through our passionate teams, our innovative technology, and by creating an amazing customer experience. We are a certified B Corp, headquartered in Seattle, WA

The Role

The Controller isOmnidianโ€™ssenior accounting leader and a core member of the leadership team. Thisisnโ€™ta back-office role.Youโ€™llpartner directly with the CFO and business leaders across the company to build scalable accounting infrastructure, drive accounting strategy, and ensureOmnidianis audit-ready and transaction-ready at every stage of growth.

Youโ€™llown the accounting function end-to-end โ€” consolidations, close, compliance, audit, tax, and systems โ€” while also serving as a forward-looking thought partner on how AI and automation can structurally improve how weoperate. You will manage and develop a team of 4โ€“8, including the Assistant Controller.

This role is for someone who is technically excellent, builds genuine relationships across the business, and sees accounting not as a reporting function but as a strategic enabler of growth.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close for US and Australian entities with speed, accuracy, and continuous process improvement.
  • Prepare and own consolidated financial statements under US GAAP, including intercompany eliminations, multi-currency consolidation, and technical accounting positions.
  • Deliver timely, reliable reporting to the CFO, Board, and investors.
Audit, Compliance & Controls
  • Own the external audit relationship and process; drive clean, on-time completions across alljurisdictions.
  • Maintain and continuously strengthen the internal control environment, building audit-ready accounting infrastructure appropriate for a company approaching a strategic transaction โ€” whether thatโ€™s M&A, a PE recapitalization, a debt raise, or an IPO.
  • Manage compliance across sales, use, and property tax obligations in multiple states and internationally.
  • Ensure compliance with bank covenants and investor reporting requirements.
Systems & AI Enablement
  • Lead the accounting technology roadmap โ€” optimizing NetSuite, evaluating AI-native tools, and building automation into the close, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
  • Actively identify and implement new methods that reduce manual effort and increase analytical value; bring genuine curiosity and urgency to this agenda.
  • Partner with FP&A, Engineering, and Operations on cross-functional system integration.
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Manage and develop the accounting team, including the Assistant Controller; build a high-performance culture with clear accountability and genuine career development.
  • Serve as a trusted accounting partner to business leaders across Sales, Product, Operations, Legal, and HR โ€” translating accounting realities into actionable guidance.
  • Partner with the CFO on M&A, debt financing, tax strategy, and investor relations as needed.
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors on provisions, filings, and strategic tax planning.
Who You Are

Youโ€™rea systems thinker whobuilds forscale, not just for today.Youโ€™rea relationship builder who earns trust with business partners by being both rigorous and accessible. You embrace AI and new methods as a genuine competitive advantage โ€” youdonโ€™twait to be asked.Youโ€™redirect, youoperatewith urgency, and you can translate technical accounting complexity into clear decisions for non-accounting leaders.

Youโ€™veclosed clean audits, survived due diligence, and know exactly what investors and acquirers will scrutinize when the time comes.

You wonโ€™tbe successful here if you need a stable,fully-builtenvironment. You will thrive if you want to build something, own it, and lead a teamthatโ€™sproud of what Accounting stands for inside the company.

Experience You'll Need
  • 12+ years of progressive accounting experience; 3+ years in a Controller or senior accounting leadership role.
  • Deep US GAAP expertise: consolidations, intercompany transactions, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and international subsidiary accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a high-growth, multi-entity environment โ€” youโ€™ve built systems that scale, not just maintained ones that existed.
  • Proven track record managing and developing accounting teams.
  • CPA required.
  • NetSuite proficiency; advanced Excel/Google Sheets.
Experience That's a Plus

  • Experience in clean energy, renewables, or sustainability-focused businesses.
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools and automation in accounting workflows โ€” not theoretical, but actually implemented.
  • Audit experience in a Big 4 or national firm environment.
