At Lenze Americas, we are growing our Finance team and looking for a seasoned finance professional to join us as our Controller. This is an ideal next step for an experienced Accounting Manager ready to advance their career.


Position Title: Controller

Position Location: Uxbridge, MA 01569

Position Type: Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 remote)

Compensation: $125,000 - $150,000 is the estimated range for this position (Final compensation will be based on skills, experience, education, and overall qualifications, and will be determined through the interview process.)


Position Snapshot: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Controller is a key leader at Lenze Americas, overseeing accounting operations to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and Lenze global standards. This role partners cross-functionally to support budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and operational performance, while delivering timely financial reporting, leading audits, and developing a high-performing accounting team.

A day in the life:

  • Lead and oversee accounting operations for Lenze Americas, including general ledger, cost and inventory accounting, AP/AR, and month-end close
  • Manage, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting team, setting clear expectations and fostering growth, accountability, and succession readiness
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Lenze Group standards
  • Serve as the primary partner to external auditors and oversee audit planning, execution, and issue resolution
  • Deliver timely financial insights and analysis to executive leadership to support strategic and operational decision-making
  • Partner closely with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning initiatives
  • Oversee inventory valuation, standard costing, product cost roll-ups, and manufacturing variance analysis in a manufacturing environment
  • Lead cost accounting activities and profitability, margin, and CVP analyses to support pricing and performance decisions
  • Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and policies to drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Oversee regulatory and compliance requirements, including sales and use tax, income tax reporting, and coordination with external advisors
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments to support continuous improvement and business objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive accounting or controller experience, with a strong focus on financial reporting; manufacturing experience is highly preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience successfully leading and developing teams, with a strong passion for coaching, training, and growth
  • Hands-on experience with SAP, Oracle, or comparable large-scale ERP systems
  • Strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, GAAP compliance, and financial statement preparation (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement)
  • Comprehensive oversight of end-to-end accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, and overall bookkeeping functions
  • Proven ownership of balance sheet and income statement reporting in organizations with $75M+ in revenue
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high standards for accuracy, data integrity, and internal financial controls
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Proven experience managing external financial audits, building strong relationships with banking partners, and collaborating with external tax advisors on annual tax provisions and statutory filings
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong overall proficiency in Microsoft Office
